STAGE02: Based on their two summaries, students are required to create TWO screen design
that represent their selected artists concepts, approach and directions.
Both screen design should carry expressive and provocative meanings to stimulate user s mind.
Screen design must include: title, content, three submenu buttons and a quit button.
1st screen design :
1)I will use the music, instrument, and emotion for the 1st screen design since Ryoji Ikeda artworks are mostly based on the lines and also shapes to represent his sounds in the artwork.
I google some visualise sound that how it looks like for reference :
2)Then I list out the things that produce sounds and music that most likely we know about :
-piano
-viola
-violin
-trumpet
-music box
-drum
-guitar
3)From the list I decided that i am going to use for is the piano since most music pieces are made from piano that we mostly known. In addition, me myself also learn piano before.Ryoji ikeda artworks also mostly made up of black and white like the piano key.
4)Begin to create sketches , idea by exaggerate the piano keys. * the 1 that is choose is tick in sketches
5)then i decided to add a human character the is simplify to represent the emotion of the music.
i choose excited to present for the emotions. And using orange color which represent the excitement.
6) some reference of screen design :-
2nd screen design :
1) I decided to choose cute design character which have 1 color that represent the childhood theme since mostly when we think about childhood we think about small children since Tsutomu Kouno himself like to use the cute simplify character design for the game.
finding reference for cute design character :
2)searching a lot of reference , i create a character that is like octopus- means that when we small we like to touch things randomly since we are curious.
3) sketching to choose what type of movement/action of the octopus should i put for the 2nd screen design.
